The Ginger Shattuck community room at Don Knabe Golf Course and Junior Academy will serve as home base for participants of after-school tutoring and youth sports programs. The 1,000 sq foot community space will also be made available for birthday parties, corporate meetings, and team building events on and off the golf course or driving range.
- $100 for 2 hours (includes 1 hour cleanup)

About Ginger Shattuck
Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District
Ginger Shattuck has spent her entire career in the Norwalk-LaMirada Unified School District (NLMUSD). She began her career as a teacher at D. D. Johnston Elementary and has held the position of Principal at Glazier Elementary and Dolland Elementary, Reading Specialist, Program Specialist, Director of Elementary, Administrator K-12, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent. In1994, Shattuck was promoted to Superintendent and served until her retirement in 2009. She returned to the District for the 2014-2015 school year to serve as Interim Superintendent.
She was named the Association of California School Administrator's (ACSA) Superintendent of the year in 1999, received the District's Administrator of the year in 1991-92 and 2002-03, received the Region XIV Marcus Foster Memorial Award in 2004, and the CMEA Music Educator of the Year Award in 2007.
Shattuck’s leadership led the NLMUSD to become one of the distinguished original five Vanguard Districts selected to bring back the Arts into all schools in collaboration with the California Arts Alliance and Arts for All. She developed and maintained partnerships with the Panasonic Foundation, UCLA, and CLSR (Center for Leadership in School Reform) at the University of Washington. Shattuck was also recognized with the Honorary Service Award from PTA Council, 33rd District.
Shattuck continues to serve on the Goals For Life Foundation Board of Directors which provides mentoring for at risk students and she is an active member of the La Mirada Kiwanis Club. She continues to provide scholarships to a graduating senior at each of the 3 High Schools, the Continuation High School, the Norwalk Adult School and the Southeast Academy.
